Please join us at 740 Front in Historic Downtown Louisville. Designated historical, 740 is one of Colorado's two oldest remaining saloons; transformed back to its 1904 roots; a traditional American dining saloon with a turn of the century ambiance featuring a magnificent room dominating bar, built in 1880 by the Brunswick Company,. The copper spit trough, once equipped with running water, still exists at the front of the bar. Louisville, notorious for its drinking, gambling, and illegal activities, evidence of the occasional misunderstanding is the .22 caliber bullet hole in the front bar.
The bar offers a selection of craft beers, wines, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive craft bourbon selection.

We were seated in basement. Plus - quieter. Minus -NO ambiance. Food too expensive for quality. Server indifferent. The bar is beautiful though.

The Wagyu flank steak was amazing. Cooked perfectly to medium rare. The unwedged salad was lovely as well. Disappointing that we could order happy hour appitizers although we noticed the table next to us did. Glad to be out of the bar area though as it was packed as we left.

I was there with my 25 year old son and we were trying to catch up on our lives. There was a table next to us that was very loud with small children crawling on the floor. Not too bad because they were apologetic. I ordered a Caesar salad to start. The waitress completely forgot my Caesar salad that I ordered and brought out dinner right away. My son confirmed he heard me order my salad that I never got. She was not apologetic at all. Disappointing. Usually when that happens, the restaurant tries to make it up to you especially when you are paying $25 for a glass of wine. This was one of our favorite restaurants because my son did work here as a teenager but service has gone downhill. Not sure if I will go back.

My wife and I were delighted by the elegant bar that is reminiscent of the best saloons of San Francisco. Great food, carefully presented and served. Servers were pleased to chat and answer questions about food and details of the sculpted bar. Great deserts topped off a memorable meal on a lovely snowy night at the best restaurant in the area.

The steak was delicious along with the mashed potatoes. The spinach was too salty, but cooked correctly so it wasn’t mushy. The panna cotta was amazing! Our server was very attentive and kind.

I made our reservation 3-4 weeks prior asking only to be sat in a booth on the main level. That was my only request. Imagine my disappointment in being sat in the upper dining room with no explanation. After dinner I also realized that we never received the special’s menu. Definitely dissatisfied

I added 2 more people to our open door reservation and the table was only set for 2. Open door initiated the request but did not follow through. Luckily it worked out and we did have a nice table. My lollipop lamb was “chewy” - I couldn’t cut it with my knife. I wondered if it was a little undercooked. As a result, I would not order it again. Everyone else enjoyed their selections. Dessert was good. Service was attentive and sufficient - no complaints - but not very friendly.

Terry - Thank you for your feedback. Sorry you had a frustrating time with Open Table. Many times guest do not see or forget to hit the last button to processes the reservation. As for your Lamb Pops, yes they are very chewy if under cooked. I am dissapointed you did not let your foodserver know, for we could have rectified the issue very easlily and immediately for your enjoyment. Don't give up on the Lamb Pops they are very good when done right. I am also dissappointed that your food server did not create a better impression upon your group. Your server does have a reserved personality, is very attentive and efficent but a little introverted at times. I apologize we didn't do better. I thank you very much for your patronage and hope that you will give 740 Front another opportunity.
