    Wanted to try this restaurant for my early bday dinner.. Glad we did ! Place was great , ambience service snd the food we truly enjoyed.

    We dined at Avant for Christmas 2023 and it wasn’t the greatest experience due to large parties and food service was backed up. Decided to give it another try hoping for a better experience and it fell short. We ordered some mock tails, the Parker roll, the large seafood tower, the salmon, the melon salad, the Waygu sirloin, and the scallops. For a “large seafood tower” it seemed small for our party of 4. Only 2 king crab legs on the platter. It seemed kind of lame that not everyone got their own crab leg, each had to be shared. Felt like a sample. The prawns were huge and delicious and the oysters were seasoned well. I would skip it to be honest. It is disappointing that the Waygu sirloin and the salmon didn’t come as more of a completed plated dish. The sides offered are nice options but why can’t they be included with the entree offerings at least? …especially for the price. The Parker roll was the shining star of all the dishes we ordered and yet it was such a small bread service but the butter options included with it are incredibly tasty. The menu at Verdana seemed better in terms of offerings but the dining room wasn’t open even though the reservations online made it seem like it was completely booked even though when we got there it was closed. Only the bar section was open but had limited options on the menu so we decided to stick with our Avant reservation for those reasons. The service was ok but could have been better especially for small dinner service that was in attendance for the evening we went. Our server didn’t seem interested in giving a more memorable and enjoyable experience. There were no suggestions offered or a dessert menu offered at the end. We genuinely want to enjoy the dining experience at Avant, but unfortunately, it falls short of justifying its pricing and overall expectations. While it seems it aspires to deliver a Michelin-level quality, it doesn’t quite reach that standard yet.

    Dined for two with their NYE 5 course platted dinner. My partner is still talking about how delicious the food was and it was her best meal in a very long time. I am Vegan, and notified them in advance. I received a response right away assuring me that the chef will have courses for me. They did not fail to provide me with delicious food. I am truly thankful that I was able to have the same experience as my partner and enjoy many of my favorite foods. Thank you.

    Date night at Rancho Bernardo Inn with drinks and an appetizer to start AVANT, then finishing the night with dinner Veranda. From the moment you walk into the resort, you feel a sense of elegance and retreat. At their restaurants, they design menus around the seasons and use ingredients ‍picked fresh from their onsite Chef's Garden. AVANT has even earned a Forbes Four-Star rating. The Veranda has Mediterranean flavors with a Southern California twist. The outside seating at Veranda offers a stunning view during the day and transports you to an exceptional dining experience at night with a fireplace, beautiful lighting, and live music on the weekends. We ordered: AVANT Woodsman Old Fashioned (Japanese whiskey, jasmine lemongrass, bitters) Wood fired wagyu beef skewers (Happy hour menu) Super cool that they have a menu specifically for Old Fashioneds! The service here was truly a 10/10!

    We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Avant! The ambiance was perfect, feeling luxurious and special. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were on point! My husband and I actually had a lovely massage earlier at RB Inn's amazing spa and then cleaned up to have dinner after at the Avant. It was the most relaxing, wonderful date and was much needed in this busy holiday season. We will definitely be back!

    Food execution was a little off tonight. Branzino was pretty much raw and mushy, not flaky. Duck breast was a little undercooked and pretty tough. Current cut is a square log with skin on. Hard to cut and hard to chew versus the medallions they have served in the past. The sauces were flavorful amd well-suited to cut the richness of the meat and I wished there was more. Accompanying truffle cakes were light and airy with a subtle sweetness to them. The roasted carrots on baba ghanoush were the best item on the menu.  Service was top-notch as usual.

    AVANT is one of our favorites!!! The staff is always so friendly and attentive, and the food is phenomenal. The flavors and the presentation is always 10/10. It is a little pricey so we save it for special occasions, but it’s totally worth the price.
