    Pros - server was great and attentive. Chef Jose was good. Food portions were plentiful. Cons: inspite of making reservation, we waited an hour to sit down. There were no benches inside to sit on while waiting. I would go more often but the entire seating, wait time, lack of planning is rather off putting.

    Good morning my services for the last week at Benihana‘s Farmington Hills has been over the top. The manager Dan was excellent. I had a concern and he fixed it right away. There was a nice young man named Joseph at the bar. He was a pleasure answer a lot of my questions by just being nosy lol hey buddy Kayla was my server. Jose was my chef for that night but Andrew was excellent. I love him to pieces he’s funny. He’s very friendly. He goes over and beyond and all his tricks and training love Benihana’s Farmington Hills. Thank you guys forever customer

    My family and I have enjoyed Benihanas for over 15 years but the quality and value has plummeted over time. For starters, we had a reservation yet still was seated over 30 minutes past our reservation time. We were stuffed in like pack rats- restaurant was well over capacity, was loud and the experience wasn’t enjoyable. Food portions in the past were at least a half size larger. I received 4 small pieces of shrimp for my “appetizer” which came with the Benihana Trio. The only vegetables that came with it were a few pieces of zucchini and a handful of onion. We thought we’d give Benihana another go, after being disappointed several times before, but this seems to be the new norm. With several other hibachi restaurants to chose from in the area, we’ll take our business elsewhere. Such a shame.

    End of the year meal (New year’s Eve) at Benihana was great , and great service although it was crowded.. would recommend & will be returning

    The wait time was more than 30 minutes past our reservation time and there was no seating while waiting. We were all cramped while waiting because clearly they had overbooked their reservations because tons of people were waiting. Food and chef great as usual. Server was fine but unable to be super attentive because she clearly had too many tables to try and service. Until you have ample staff, decrease the number of reservations you make!

    Made reservations but still had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. Food started coming out 30 minutes after being seated. Food was ok. It was pricey. Server was probably overwhelmed as she was forgetful with requests.

    0/10 - I wouldn’t step foot into this place EVER again. The treatment received was not only utterly disturbing but traumatizing to say the least. The police was called on me and another gentleman by the general manager for speaking about the service we received. Instead of the GENERAL MANAGER figuring out how to make our experience better and deescalating the situation as the GENERAL MANAGER she took our complaints personal because of her ego. I have never been more disgusted in my life. Thank you for traumatizing my 10 yr old son and refusing him food after we took 3 hours out of our day for the worst experience we’ve ever received. In the 3 hours I wasted, we were offered drinks when we first sat down (never received a refill), took a hour just to receive the sushi we ordered and 2 hours later the chef finally came. The chef was still preparing the food as we were escorted out. I asked to pay for our food and receive a box so my child could eat since we wasted so much time and it was almost 10pm at night, we were told no lol.
