   My dinner was mediocre at best - the haddock was over cooked and quite a small portion. My dinner companion had salmon and it looked over cooked and as if it had been sitting under the lights before making it to the table. Need to pay more attention to the food coming out of the kitchen for the prices you’re charging.

   We had a lovely meal. The salmon was cooked to perfection, our servers were gracious and pleasant, and all of the food was excellent.

   Outstanding service as previously experienced. Food was nicely done. Just a wonderful gem of a location.

   This restaurant came highly recommended by friends who had not visited recently. It was just ok. It felt dated. The pianist was performing in the lounge adjacent to the dining room. Music was geared to a much older crowd and just felt like it needed an upgrade. The waiter introduced himself to every guest as part of a mother and son team. This sounded a bit gimmicky, like they were trying to project a homey, down to earth atmosphere. It didn’t really work. The food was average. The eggplant dish was too spicy and difficult to finish. The lobster bisque was salty, but good, not great. The short rib was tender and flavorful. The chocolate mousse was disappointing. It seemed more like chocolate pudding. Perhaps our expectations were too high based on other reviews. They could use a facelift overall. The prices were fair and reasonable. I’m sure they’re good people who have been doing this well for a long time and have a solid following. They just need a bit of help.

   This was my husband's and my first time at Clay Hill Farm. The pros - beautiful both outside and inside. The cons - what restaurant has bottled water but doesn't have a cooler and tells you it is warm - they don't keep it in a fridge. This was a surprise as the restaurant promotes weddings and special occasions. They offer ice, but that defeats the purpose of bottled water. Another disappointment for me, I was planning to order the stuffed eggplant but unfortunately, it had an ingredient I was allergic to, and was told it is made ahead of time -that was surprising since this is a vegetarian dish. Overall, I probably wouldn't dine at this restaurant again as I have had better meals at other restaurants in the area.

    This was my birthday dinner. Everything was delicious. It was nice to be able to carry on a conversation without loud background noise. One of our favorite spots to go for dinner. And the apple trees are so beautifully in bloom all around the restaurant.
