Jack Thompson, of the Thompson Organization and the Black Bass Hotel, purchased the Golden Pheasant in July of 2019 and plans to reopen in the new year. Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012.     It was a very busy Friday between Christmas and New Year’s, and we were thankful for Open Table and having made reservations! The mild weather brought everyone out to Peddler’s Village and all shops were crowded. The next best part was they didn’t run out of the favorite foods so we could get the specials plus anything else. We always enjoy the food and atmosphere here.

    This restaurant is exceptional and fast becoming a favorite! The table spacing is very generous in both dining rooms, In fall and spring and summer we also enjoy dining on the front porch at dusk- lovely view and there are heaters built in to the porch roof extending the outdoor dining season!

    Once again a delicious meal and probably the best service we've ever had there! Sarah was absolutely AMAZING and so very considerate as we were celebrating my husband's birthday! She definitely went the extra mile to make EVERYTHING absolutely perfect! Totally enjoyed our experience on an extremely busy night December 23rd! Thank you for all the efforts!
