At Babette, the husband and wife team of Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker, are in the kitchen preparing each plate to ensure that their vision and taste profile are translated to each diner. The attention to detail are evident in not only the food they make but also the ambience they have created. The interior of the restaurant is natural brick and the couple have chosen a rich color palette of deep blues and greens for the walls. Acre never disappoints. This was no exception. There was a delay in the kitchen and food was taking longer than usual to come out. We barely noticed because we were with old friends catching up. But the manager came out and apologized and brought us a free appetizer and comped another round of drinks, so we were all good!

We had a choice to sit outside or inside - I think either would have been lovely but we chose outside and sat around the fire table - between the fire table, heat lamp and cozy blankets, the temperature was perfect even on a somewhat chilly night and you could not beat the wonderful atmosphere. It was our first time here but will not be the last.
