Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. My friend and I had a wonderful brunch on Sunday. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The server's assistant was friendly as well, asking if we needed more coffee or if we were ready to clear. It was very nice that our server heard that it was my birthday and brought out the strawberry biscuit that we had inquired about at the top of the meal. It was a great experience and the service was relatively efficient too. The food was plentiful. We both had leftovers to take home!

Great, home cooked meals! My family dined here Thanksgiving 2024 and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The owner was very attentive to ensure our orders were prepared and served timely and with a smile. Please try this restaurant, support a small, woman-owned business.

The Grove is a hidden gem. The food was very good and the service was excellent. It is a good place to go for a nice dinner with good size portions at a reasonable price. The ambience was nice with an upscale crowd. The hostess Ms. Ethel is very knowledgeable about The Grove and treated us like family. I highly recommend The Grove and will definitely return.
