In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. Good food, but quite a limited menu. I tried the Green Curry with chicken, which was excellent. My wife tried the fermented fish, which is apparently from NE Thailand. It was super hot, with no sauce to help cool it. She loved the flavours, but had to bring half it home, to enjoy with some yoghurt on the side. We will go back there.
