The Grape Variety is a neighbourhood, independent wine bar, shop and restaurant, selling great wines and food from around the world, located just 2 minutes from Chipstead Railway Station.We opened in the spring of 2018 with the aim that a wine bar should cater not just to experts, but to all, so we created one where our guests could unwind at the end of the day with a great wine in a warm, friendly and genuine environment, whilst getting sound advice about which wines to enjoy, as well as to take away.For food, we offer quality artisan cheese and charcuterie, alongside dishes such as baked Camembert, bakery sausage rolls, hot chorizo and potato, hummus with a spicy sauce, Spanish pâté and the like. On Thursdays, enjoy our wood fired pizza pop-up and our legendary Quirky Quiz runs every other Wednesday. Wonderful Sunday roast, food was delicious and wine was very nice. Service was good, the kids food was a little late out but staff were proactively apologetic. The kids table is such a great addition, unfortunately it finished at 5pm, when the email advertising it implied 6pm, so our little girl only got 15 mins on it which was a shame as it’s the main reason we went, but we’ve noted that for next time. Really enjoyed and will definitely return

Always such a warm welcome. Really comfortable place to spend a winter afternoon. Toasted sandwich & coffee to start then on to the wine. Christmas window display is stunning.
