Located on 'The Hill' in Grosse Pointe Farms, the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe presents live jazz and comfort dinning in an intimate, Ole English pub atmosphere.

The venue offers a great all-day menu Tuesday through Thursday, and great live music and pre-fixe menu combination on Friday and Saturday. Chef Andre Neimanis serves up bistro favorites, world cuisine influences, comfort food with a twist and exciting daily specials. The wine list offers about 60 selections, 20 by the glass.

My friends and I purposely had lunch at the Dirty Dog because we wanted a quiet venue where we could converse. In the evening the Dog is a concert venue and conversation is not only impossible but also forbidden. So, choose your time to visit depending on your goals! The food is very good, the service courteous, although the whole process takes some time. Good for a relaxed lunchtime!

A friend and I visited for the first time on Thursday. We checked out the Tribute to the wonderful Joe Sample. The band was really good. The atmosphere was fun and light. I had the crab cakes and ordered the soup of the day. My friend ordered the Fromage, Chop Salad, and soup. She also had a glass of wine that she enjoyed and I had a cocktail. Both were delicious. My crab cakes were too crisp on the bottom and I sent them back. The server was very apologetic. Later, the server forgot to bring our soups. We didn't remind him and were not charged. All in all, we had a very nice time and look forward to joining them for more great music. Thank you Dirty Dog Cafe.

Attended Demetrius “Krayon” Nabors’ show and it was amazing, and the food was incredible to boot. Love the DDJC! The service was magnificent and it was an awesome evening!

This is a gem! There is no where else that you can experience excellent live jazz, with good food and convivial service, at a reasonable price in a setting with perfect vibe.

The music was great, the service was really good, the atmosphere was also fantastic,however, the food was not very good and overpriced. I was wondering why so many others in the cafe only came for drinks and the concert…now, I know why. We will definitely be back, but not for dinner.

The Dirty Dog is a wonderful venue for a night of music, food and libations! We were at the early seating for the Detroit iconic jazz group Straight Ahead. These ladies are on par with any small combo groups I've ever heard (male or female)! Our server, Katy, was excellent and provided on-point food and beverage recommendations. If you're looking for a cozy, intimate evening with great entertainment, The Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe is the place!
