Sahara Restaurant was founded in 1982, with the first location in Ferndale, Michigan. The establishment has been owned and operated by Saad Attisha and his family since it’s first day opened. In 1987, New Sahara Restaurant moved its location to Oak Park and opened other locations in Sterling Heights, Farmington Hills and Shelby Twp. All of the Mediterranean,m Chaldean and Middle-Eastern dishes are prepared fresh daily by a team of exceptional chef’s. The Caucus Club, located in the Penobscot Building, is an historic, stylish art deco masterpiece featuring two distinct dining spaces, historic bar and live Jazz. The front entrance leads guests to the elegant front dining room with the stage being the focal point. The back entrance leads to the dark and moody back room and bar with space for mingling, cocktails and dining. Adjacent to the bar entrance is the Caucus Club Kitchen, fully viewable from the hallway of the Penobscot building.The menu centers around the in-house dry-aging room, yielding Prime Steaks and Chops expertly butchered on site. The balance of the menu features seafood and eclectic dishes that change with the seasons. Lunch has its own unique offerings, and the Bar offers distinct offerings for Happy Hour. Nice venue, great food, good value. Food took almost an hour to come out but there was a Lions & Bills game so it was busy. Would go back, would recommend!

Our first time here and we will definitely be back! Shared the Caeser salad and bbq chick pizza and both were delicious and plentiful!! Made a reservation before an 8pm show at the Fillmore but didn’t end up needing it. This will be our new go to place before a show.

Javier’s was everything my daughter was looking for when looking into a picturesque place to take beautiful photos as well as offer a great ambiance for her 21st Birthday!! The staff were very welcoming. The parking was a bit of a headache but it’s downtown so you can expect that. It was also an event going on at ford field. Besides that it was perfect. Not a big selection for kids so if you have picky little eaters they may not enjoy it. But great spot for a date night, Birthday dinner etc.
