The Prescott, located at the corner of Beech and Preston Street in Ottawa, is one of the oldest licensed drinking establishments in the city, with roots tracing back to 1934. Originally the Preston Hotel, it was renamed The Prescott in 1941, symbolizing its role as the last watering hole between Ottawa and Prescott, 100 km down the highway. During WWII, co-owner Giuseppe Costantini, an Italian-Canadian, was interned by the Canadian government as an "enemy alien," temporarily shutting down the hotel. Despite these challenges, The Prescott continued under the sole ownership of his partner, Antonio Disipio, and became a fixture in the community. Over the years, it has hosted family events, sponsored sports teams, and remained an iconic spot for locals. Today, it stands as a retro eatery, preserving its legacy and charm as a cornerstone of Preston Street.

Owners Andrea and John have lived in and around Chinatown for over 20 years and, along with chef Jeff, set up shop steps away from the beautiful Chinatown archway. Their beers have won many awards including their 3 time Ontario Brewing Awards winning Manhire Berliner Weisse (gold 2021, gold 2022, silver 2023).Spark started serving 'west centretown' pizzas in November of 2022 and now offer a variety of pizzas all served on house-made cold fermented dough with the best toppings we can find. Wonderful surprise! This small restaurant has fantastic food, highly recommended the Mushroom dish with Lion’s Mane mushrooms! Also, the twist on Trini Doubles were amazing! Adam at the bar made a wonderful cocktail based on our likes and dislikes and was a great host! Nothing but superlatives.

Always love visiting this spot but we have to give a shoutout to our server who was phenomenal! He had only been working at Gburger for two weeks but you'd never know. He was beyond kind, attentive and really made our experience that much better. If I didn't know he was new we would have assumed he owned the place because he treated his role/job with such care of someone who's very invested in their workplace. So shoutout to hiring amazing staff!! Food of course was great, and amazing value compared to what you get now most places.
