We are a 21+ restaurant and bar. Founded in 2018 by Joel and Matthew and purchased in late 2022 by Becky and Jon, the vision remains the same: Old English pub vibes, high quality food. We loved The Shambles from the minute we walked in and now we continue the heritage of what was created before us. On the food side: high quality steaks, cut in house. Cooks who have the freedom to create seasonal dishes ranging from foraged mushrooms to house made sausages. This bustling neighborhood restaurant specializes in oysters and other seafood dishes. Using nothing but the freshest ingredients, Chef Taylor Thomas creates seasonal food. The Walrus and the Carpenter also serves wine, smart cocktails, beer and cider. It makes an ideal after-hours hangout spot. Enjoy some fried oysters with a cold beer, surrounded by cozy rustic furnishings. If you prefer an alternative to seafood, look no further than the steak tartare, which comes with thinly sliced rye toast and egg yolk.     Occasion Solo dining on a weekend Food & Drink Agnolotti with pork sugo, escarole, and smoked ricotta salata seasoning - 10/10. Pasta was done perfectly as al dente with sauce to go along with the vegetable, cheese and tender meat. Delectable with hint of salt but not one thing stole the show, all ingredients worked really well together. Sitting at the counter, I noticed that many folks ordered the Bolognese dish and the agnolotti one with the black cod being the most popular/ ordered dishes. I would come back with my friends to try their other pastas and proteins! I had their Hugo spritzer - a mix of elderflower, mint, lemon, soda (carbonated water). This was not too sweet, just the way I like it! Ambiance Pleasant atmosphere that is well-designed and well-lit with minimalistic decor. Everything served a function; there were tasteful paintings near the coat hangers. Service Impeccable! From check in to closing out, the service here was stellar. I was greeted by a friendly host up front who checked me in and seated me right away on the counter as I requested on OpenTable. My server was attentive and quick to make suggestions based on my preferences on drinks and food. The staff were a delight! They were all very communicative with each other and made sure to take care of the dish before serving it. They gifted me a dessert and cute little appetizer which was very generous of them!

    Wonderful meal - we had Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad, Crushed Potatoes, and a 10 oz Ribeye. Everything was fantastically flavorful and plated beautifully. The service was excellent and the food arrived in an appropriate amount of time - which is to say quickly, but slowly enough to ensure you know everything is made fresh to order. Great experience!

    Beautiful new restaurant - off to a great start with warm, friendly service and standout dishes include the baby butternut squash and duck for two with confit leg and dirty rice. Bread service is a great choice too to mop up all the extra sauce

    The food here exceeded our expectations, everything was really, really good. We had ahi crudo, carrots, polenta fries, and focaccia to start, and then 3 pastas and the scallops. Everything was delicious, well presented and excellent presentation. The waiter was lovely and very informative. And the prices while a bit high were worth it.
