Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community. The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet. Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. This is the second time at Kara for us, but this time it was for a family gathering, and yet again it was great. The shorter fixed priced lunch time menu choice was superb, great value and the food outstanding.

My fiancé and I had a lovely roast dinner at the Squirrel Pub in Farnborough on Sunday! Plenty of meat and potatoes, Yorkshire was cooked perfectly and lots of gravy! We gave it a good 7/10, lost points because the beef was chewy and the portion of veg was tiny! Bonus though is you can ask for more potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire’s for free! I personally would have preferred more veg. It was good value for money and a nice atmosphere even with the footy on! Would definitely come again.

Fantastic family meal. The food was tasty, well presented and cooked well. The staff we so friendly and went out of their way to help. It really was refreshing to see such high standards in staff. Thanks and a huge well done to your team!
