The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. Our starters were very large overall but could have done with a bit more toast with the pate. Main course was exception more than enough to satisfy the biggest appetite. Only the children had desert but there were clean plates so that too was a hit. Service was a little slow with clearing away empty glasses and bottles but overall very lovely time was had by all

Good food at atmosphere, but not quite up to previous standards (recently changed management). Not much festive cheer, last year we got Christmas crackers!

Well greeted by the staff, good choice of food and drinks. Great service and food which was excellent was served hot and well presented.
