BEAR Hockley is perched slap-bang in the middle of Nottingham's creative neighbourhood. With its small red frontage nestled in amongst the rainbow colours of Carlton Street, the store has a lot more to show off inside than first meets the eye. Expect light, breezy decor, cosy coffee & cocktail nooks, and (our favourite feature) a beautiful glass roof that floods the place with natural sunlight.

Exciting times here at The Dovecote, we are having a refurbishment!This affects reservations made between 17th Feb and 7th March, Opening hours will remain the same, however we will be moving the restaurant into our Granary Loft function suite while we carry out the works. From building society, to bank, to BEAR – this ornate old banking hall site on Derby’s Iron Gate stood empty and forgotten for 9 long years… until we came along.BEAR Iron Gate, Derby sits slap-bang in the centre of the city’s iconic and beautiful Cathedral Quarter; the original hotspot for high-quality food and drink. Opening in 2017 following the success of our Uttoxeter store, the progression to Derby seemed natural for BEAR, as our two founders spent a lot of time in the city as teens, so they have loads of fun memories attached to the place.

Red Dog is an authentic Bar and American BAR-B-Q restaurant, serving 18-hour roast ribs, brisket, aged chuck steak burgers and much more, all best enjoyed with tasty cocktails or milkshakes.Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.
