General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Service was incredible. Michelle was attentive and thorough, kind and welcoming. We loved the halibut with the creamed leeks, as well as the lemon posset for dessert. Overall it was a perfect meal with perfect drinks. We will definitely be back.

The service and ambiance was great. Notable dishes were the challah and fluke and fennel. The fries were perfectly crispy and the broccoli was very flavourful. However, the ribeye was average, it lacked flavour but cooked properly yo medium rare.

Such great Christmas vibes!! Absolutely loved it as a soon as we walked in. The hostess and host were very friendly and accommodating as well. Drinks were fun and festive! They have great little snacks and photo section too. Great place!
