The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. Our pan-Asian menu gathers influences of cooking styles from all around Asia; including Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. The design of the restaurant is influenced by some of our favourite places to eat and drink, it takes its cues from the street food ‘Hawker’ markets of Penang mixed with the reclaimed building feel of Budapest’s ruin bars. Penang, Malaysia is an eclectic melting pot of various food styles, with influences from Indonesia, Thailand, India and China, dishes such as soup ramen and stone-baked donburi are two great examples of the depth in flavour, which can be created when different styles come together.

    Lovely experience felt like such a treat staff were superb especially our waitress Katie. We shall be back thoroughly enjoyable - nothing was too much trouble she was helpful with me as I have lactose intolerance. Food was top notch fresh hot and I had the vegetable curry which was also really tasty. Thank you

    Really lovely food. Party of 4 and we all had something different. One of the best burgers I've had in years! Excellent wine choice too. Friendly staff and a great night. Highly recommend.

    We went for the Wednesday "all you can eat" 6pm sitting for my wife's birthday. We were seated promptly, although the restaurant was quiet to be fair. Service was really good, took a quick drink order then the food service started with the soup and brioche. Once the main food service started it didn't stop :D. The staff just did rounds with the various dishes all of which were really tasty Excellent experience

    Lovely get together with friends. Always a lovely atmosphere at Alberts when I’ve been. Warm welcome and taken straight to table. Food was tasty and service was just right. Good choice off set menu. Was really good to be able to get a two course meal for £15. Can highly recommend the delicious broccoli soup. Would definitely recommend Xxx
