It features a double vaulted arched ceiling with Italian blown glass chandeliers. Commissioned pieces of 'wine art' by eclectic artist Ron Genta grace the gallery walls. It's the perfect place to gather with business associates or family and friends. There is comfortable seating for up to 36 guests all at one table. Our big screen monitor and Bose stereo complements your audio / visual needs.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of most of their food including chicken, salmon, and Kobe burgers which accounted for 5 out of their 10 entrees. Our first and second choices were shot down immediately. Their remaining offers were steak-house priced steaks, Ahi Tuna, pork pasta, and a vegan offering. They were also extremely short staffed in the kitchen taking well over an hour to deliver the first meal (Ahi Tuna), with the second one being delivered a few minutes later (Pono Pork Pasta). The appetizers at this restaurant were pricey, but I’m glad I ordered the Caesar Salad since the wait for the entrees was so long. I was also surprised that there was no bread basket for starters, but when asked they offered this bread (a tiny baguette) for a fee ($6.95). They offered free desserts (ice cream and gelato) to thank us for our patience. We tried to be very understanding since it was Christmas Day and the restaurant seemed to be overwhelmed with the staffing issues, but we left the establishment bewildered with the experience.

Being a Lone Ranger here on island at Christmas, I decided to take myself out to dinner. I sat at the bar with my reservation and ordered a real nice Cabernet to go with my absolutely delicious chicken Parmesan and spaghetti. The service itself was great. 3 different servers consistently attended to me which was very pleasing. The dessert finished off very well with my wine as well. The ambiance was very holiday visitor vibe but the staff was hosting at a great level. Thank you for a great ending to my solo Christmas Formaggio’s!

Delicious food and great atmosphere! The service was also really good and the food came out so fast! Highly recommend!

We had a dinner reservation for 2, directed to our table and found 1 menu. Ordered house salad, drenched in dressing and soggy. Ordered coffee after meal and it was cold. Obviously server poured old coffee and never checked. Ordered a keoki coffee and she didn’t know the drink, checked with bartender, and told us twice she was working on it, we finally decided to cancel the keoki coffee. In fairness, the restaurant is understaffed. But the high prices do not justify the poor food quality. Much better dining experiences in town. We try to support local Kailua businesses and thought we would try Formaggio since it’s been awhile since we last dined there. Hugh disappointment. Sadly, we won’t return.

Lovely atmosphere. Service was great, food yummy…highlight is the live music. Brant is enjoyable. Made a great night.

We made a reservation that was confirmed and when we arrived we were turned away because the kitchen closed before our arrival even though we were allowed to make the reservation

Outstanding Italian Grill with a live band and great bar atmosphere. The food and service were excellent. Met the owner and there were many locals enjoying their evening. Short but reasonably priced wine list, with a little more than a dozen selections. The rigatoni with local pork in a crème tomato sauce was excellent. I will definitely come back again!
