SPIRITED DINING AND DRINKS IN SANTA FE

In 1882, Abraham Staab, a European immigrant who became one of Santa Fe’s most prosperous merchants, built a Victorian mansion on property that now belongs to La Posada. Abraham’s elegant wife, Julia, entertained local society and visiting dignitaries in incomparable style. Legend has it that Julia so loved her home that she has never left it.

Today, we celebrate Julia Staab as our muse and honor her name and legendary hospitality with the opening of Julia, A Spirited Restaurant & Bar. The restaurant features innovative, locally sourced dishes as well as an extensive selection of fine wines and spirits.

First time inside the restaurant, beautiful place! Food was excellent, portions very generous! Service very friendly, very clean. Good place for dinning!

Stopped by for a quick dinner. Daily special pasta was delicious. Attractive room, quiet atmosphere. Pleasant and attentive staff. Overall very good experience.

The service and ambience was perfect. The food was excellent, loved their “warm” salad and the veal dish was beautifully presented and delicious.

Our food was served lukewarm and cold. Our waiter was very nice but apparently he had many tables assigned to him (he may have been the only waiter) that we hardly ever saw him. Had to ask other staff members for coffee service and getting our bill. The restaurant appears to be very understaffed but in this day and age, employees are known not show up for work. Many years have passed since we last visited the restaurant and it was the "place to go to", hopefully those days will return.

We eat in the bar area as there was a noisy family with kids. The restaurant was gracious in moving us. The bartender was our waitress and she was fantastic. Food was very tasty and portions were just right. Great time for a casual dinner.

Don’t know Julia was in a hotel. There was no vibe at bar or restaurant although it was nice having a quiet dinner for two. Salmon was very good. The NY Strip was half the thickness of a normal steak and had a lot of fat on each tip of sliced meat. Service was very good. Decent restaurant but overpriced for what we got.

High praise for the chef. I tried the roasted poblano pepper and it was incredible. It was stuffed with quinoa and a couple of very flavorable sauces. I have never had anything like it. My husband had the grilled salmon and again it was really good. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff took great care of us.

My husband and I were looking for a quick meal on a Sunday, so we ate dinner at Julia's in the bar. We shared the stuffed poblano, which was stuffed with tri-colored quinoa and topped with two different kinds of sauces. It was delicious. I would recommend Julia's.
