Katherine’s offers the charm and service that discerning patrons have come to expect, featuring 21-day dry aged Prime Beef from Stockyards in Chicago.

Following the tradition of fine dining restaurants, featuring steaks & chops, Italian specialties veal piccata, cioppino, and chicken marsala. Seafood delicacies - Grilled Pacific Salmon, Lobster, Alaskan King Crab Legs, and our Stone Crab is flown in fresh daily from the Florida Keys during Season beginning mid-October through May.

                                                                                                      Had a great meal with our dear friends who live in California. Staff were great as usual. Food was delicious. This is our favorite place to eat for special occasions.

                                                                                                      Since the restaurant is in a casino, you might expect a bit more noise. But since it is supposedly a fine dining restaurant, you should not have to listen to shouting customers so loud you cannot converse while you eat. The service was good but not outstanding. I hate when waiters introduce themselves and immediately ask what you want to order. Especially when you don't have the wine list. And then repeatedly try to upsell by asking if you want more wine 5 times during dinner,. When your glass is half full. But the waiter did check back often and was very attentive. The lobster bisque was excellent - creamy with lots of lobster bits. The mussels were OK, but came in a creamy sauce rather than a wine sauce like we are used to. They were not as good as most mussels we have had at home or countless restaurants. The mashed potatoes were whipped too much for my liking. - whipped to death. The veal francaise was excellent. The prime rib was cooked perfectly medium rare with very juicy meat. But the meat itself did not have much flavor - you had to add horse radish and cream sauce to have any flavor as the meat was not flavorful at all. The free appetizer plate was comical. Two green olives and two black olives. Two tiny squares of cheese. The free rolls were also not very good. We came because Katherine's has a reputation for fine dining. From our experience this is not fine dining like in Las Vegas. Or anywhere else in the world with fine dining. This is a mediocre casino restaurant and we would not return.

                                                                                                      Service was slow. Steak was ordered Med rare came med and nobody checked on us. Also had to place a ton of salt for flavor.. Underwhelming experience... was expecting something nice. won't go back

                                                                                                      As always the food, and service was absolutely amazing! The waitress we had has been here for years, and we are always happy when she is serving us. The only thing I wish they would bring back is if you’re celebrating a special occasion that you get your dessert for free. I know people took advantage of that and that’s probably why they have to start charging, but why couldn’t they have show your ID for proof and you get a free dessert maybe do it for birthdays only!

                                                                                                      The food was very good. The ambience was that of breakfast at the Waffle House. Our server and his assistant were outstanding. The restaurant is located in a resort hotel that was sold last year. The hotel is going through a renovation and the restaurant has just completed the remodel. The acoustics are horrendous. The atmosphere has changed drastically. Enjoying your dinner and a quiet conversation are no longer possible. The restaurant once had a rule that they would only serve a maximum of 6 per table. That has changed and could be a contributing factor in the noise. There was a number of large groups of men (golfers) that were very loud. This is the 2nd time we have experienced raucous groups. I believe there may be a new Executive Chef and with that comes new recipes. My favorite dish is the Shrimp Rockefeller. The preparation of the dish has changed. It was still good but not "as good" as the previous times that I have ordered it. The entrance to the restaurant was more elegant. Now the entry has a large TV and looks like a sports bar with a large table that could easily seat 8 and a number of smaller tables to seat 2 - 4 guests. We plan to give it one more chance - hopefully it will be more relaxing and enjoyable.

                                                                                                      Our two servers were certainly nice guys, but they allowed the kitchen to massively rush us which made the courses difficult to enjoy. The food was coming out and because of the size of the plates, they were unable to place them without removing what we already had, even when we were not finished. This was stressful and confusing often resulting in us not having the correct (or any) flatware. Water glasses were empty for some time. The nice young man apologized when he did refill them. They were out of the first 3 wines we tried to order. After rushing us through the whole mean, we waited over 20 minutes for our dessert, which we ordered at the same time as our entrees. When we finished dessert, we waited almost 30 minutes for our check. The waiter was back and forth into the room several times during this wait. The food had highlights, for sure, the shrimp Oscar style appetizer had amazing flavors and perfect texture, but our soup and salad getting piled on top of it lessened the experience of the flavors. The French Onion soup was very good but the wedge salad was strange, served with a pile of partially burnt, partially uncooked bacon on the side of the plate. The Ribeye was excellent quality although cooked past the temp that we requested. The sides, onion strings-great, mashed potatoes-yummy, creamer corn-watery and baked potato-dry. We enjoyed the dessert very much, the house signature soufflé, the presentation was beautiful and the flavors were perfect, even the texture was spot-on. Overall, the timing and rushed pace overrode the experience and it just wasn’t the relaxed anniversary celebration we were hoping for. We are unlikely to return expecting a fine dining experience. Maybe we’ll drop in to the lounge for a snack and that amazing soufflé.
