This is where it all started – on the banks of the Rappahannock River overlooking where we grow our oysters. We like to call Merroir a “tasting room,” just so people know to expect something different. The duck breast was excellent as was the squash salad. We had poached pear for dessert which was also excellent. Great selection of wines by the glass and the rum punch was very potent.

We had a lovely Birthday Dinner on the 21st. Our weight person was terrific and attentive. Sadly we were the one and only customers for a six thirty seating. I know that Merrior is always crowded in the summer, but people need to know it is quiet and extremely enjoyable in the winter as well. We sat on the porch and it was warm and cozy.

Love coming to Island House for the excellent food and awesome water views! Today did not disappoint. Although a little on the "pricey" side, portions are generous. Server today was a bit inattentive - rarely checking in even though we were his only table.

As a huge fan of the Channel Bass Inn, it was incredible to be a part of their final tea party for their 2024 season. The food was amazing with great flavors. I highly recommend dining here on your next visit to Chincoteague.
