Situated at the historic location of the former Waverly Inn at 286 Maple Ave., Il Gusto revives a cherished local landmark, combining the rich heritage of its predecessor with the vibrant flavors of modern Italian cuisine. Il Gusto will feature a menu reminiscent of Adriana's, offering a delectable selection of traditional and contemporary Italian dishes. With seating for over 220 guests and a spacious banquet room, we are the perfect venue for dining, parties, meetings, and special events. Our goal is to preserve the history of the Waverly Inn by showcasing framed photographs of the original establishment, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere for our guests.

La legendaria historia del Diorio Restaurant dio comienzo a principios de la década de 1920. El fallecido Rocco Diorio fue el responsable de la comida tradicional de primera calidad y de muchos recuerdos inolvidables para la mayoría de las personas del área metropolitana de Waterbury. Este restaurante cerró en 1980 y fue vuelto a inaugurar en 1991 tras una restauración completa que le devolvió su esplendor original. No obstante, la leyenda continúa ya que su equipo se mantiene fiel a esos entrañables recuerdos. Este establecimiento conserva la barra de mármol original, las mesas de caoba tipo cabina de gran tamaño, los techos de hojalata y los impresionantes espejos grabados al ácido con imágenes de la histórica Waterbury. También alberga un salón comedor privado para eventos particulares o corporativos. Monica was our server and she was outstanding! Three of us done out monthly and we tried New Mill last night and was not disappointed!! I had the Maple Glazed Pork Chop and it’s cooked just right and was the best ever. The other entrees were crab stuffed cod and a home made cavatelli pasta with grilled chicken and those were also excellent. I topped off my meal with a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. Wow! Definitely going back!!

Wow. Although located where it was, it's not the Waverly Inn anymore! It is so updated and light and bright! The food was spectacular. From the calamari app through the main course of Bolognese and Branzino Fish, it was fresh and a wonderful combination of flavors. Excellent wine selection and a full bar. We will not hesitate to go back there.
