Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. I have to admit that the last couple of times that we dined here their service was lacking. However, last night, Lorran made sure that our experience was one to remember, from the moment that we sat down to the end of the evening. Our appetizer specials were delicious and the flank steak and swordfish specials were amazing. The drinks were great as well! We are looking forward to our end of the year dinner!! Lorran, thank you for your amazing service last night and we look forward to seeing you soon!

First time eating here. I ate a San Juan Oaks several times before the remodel but I didn't know what to expect. The staff was very welcoming and the food was great. We will definitely go back.

First time to Salt Wood. My wife & I really enjoyed our dinner. The oysters grilled & chilled were both amazing! Caviar, olive bread, and short rib also highly recommended! Bartender did not disappoint with the drinks. Will definitely be back!!!!

Good atmosphere and menu. Service was good. It wasn't very busy so we were seated quickly and catered too. They can get real busy on weekend nights, so a reservation is recommended.
