The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch. Throughout the summer we offer BBQ dining from our hand-cranked Asado and Rotisserie Grills.

Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel es un edificio de estilo georgiano de 300 años de antigüedad catalogado como grado II (En el Reino Unido los edificios de interés histórico o arquitectónico se enlistan de acuerdo al tipo de edificio. Los grado II son edificios particularmente importantes que despiertan un interés especial). El lugar ha sido objeto de un programa extensivo de decoración para restaurar el edificio a su antigua gloria. El periodo de renovación se utilizó para combinar algunas características de la época original de la construcción con muebles y decoración de estilo clásico que complementa la esencia original de la edificación. Le Bouchon Brasserie ofrece una mezcla de gastronomía francesa y británica en un entorno íntimo y relajado. Los comensales pueden disfrutar de platillos elegidos a la carta o escoger entre la amplia selección de menús establecidos en diferentes momentos de la semana. Just one word- Amazing. We were all impressed with the all service and atmosphere and the food… wow. So kind and smiling staff, who take care for your comfort the whole time, the restaurant so shiny and fancy , you feel like a star⭐️😋 The food absolutely amazing , from the starters and the salad to the finger-licking good desserts . This is definitely the restaurant we’ll come to again .

I’ve been to maddogs & Englishman quite a few times over the last year and every single time I go, I have such a brilliant experience with all the different themes that they go for. I’m never disappointed and always thoroughly enjoy it. I think my friend and I will be making a yearly visit!!!

A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. My friend is vegan and they adapted a meal for them as well as going through the vegan options on the wine menu. Delicious food all round and a lovely atmosphere.

Great afternoon late lunch me and my husband. 5 plates of tapas, few glasses wine, perfect afternoon. Pear & goats cheese toasts, chicken skewers with red pepper sauce, broccoli, prawn skewers & of course potatoe bravas. All delicious 😋
