On arrival we were greeted by pleasant young girl who showed us to our table. We then ordered a drink and studied both menus. We started a cheese dish. We then had seabass and a pork dish. At this I must say there was more ample portions. The food was excellent . We did not have dessert but instead had an Irish coffee Our experience was 5 star and would highly recommend the Hillside .

From the moment we walked in made to feel special . Top props to pastry chef with special heart . Service excellent. Surprise flowers delivered . Well done everyone made our valentine amazing . Will be back . Highly recommend afternoon tea at the Merchant

We were here lunchtime for valentine's day,staff were helpful and service was great,my wife ordered the chowder as a main and it was best ever and ceaser salad was excellent as well, waitress was good at offering to take a picture of ourselves and new baby son.

Lovely lunch Great service Loved the sea bass Negative comment If not at a booth , the normal tables are too close! I dislike hearing every word your neighbours say plus trying to squeeze between tables is not easy!
