Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

Easy to book. Table was prepared and ready for our arrival. Staff were professional and really helpful. Food and drinks were served quickly and then we were able to relax, sit and chat. Excellent.

I have been fortunate in my life to dine in some beautiful restaurants. "The Boathouse" is up there with the best I have experienced. Visited to celebrate our 30 year wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was sublime, only had two courses, but wish I'd had a third. Allison, our waitress was attentive and provided us with considerable historical knowledge of the area. Wonderful views of the Forth Rail Bridge.

Food was delicious. A little on the expensive side for a 2 course lunch, perhaps 50% more than may favourite gourmet place in Edinburgh city centre.

Food was excellent Staff were v polite but although quiet weren’t that attentive. It was v quiet which was a shame Overall I thought was quite expensive to be honest
