   What a difference a year makes. Last year a controversy over my OpenTable reservation drove me out of the restaurant. This year very accommodating and gracious. The young lady out front welcomed me and enthusiastically “marked me in” as I dined at the bar. The menu is very tight, yet innovative. I’ve never had anything like the Asian fusion steak tartare. That was a great start. My entree was the ribeye and the Chèvre Mac and cheese, which was fabulous. The service was attentive and superb in the bar area. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to a return next time in Harrisonburg.

   Always enjoy Chop House. The filet wasn’t quite up to your standard, but still acceptable. Not as tender, a bit chewy.

   My husband and I ordered the sirloin and I had to send mine back. Mine was chewy and tough so ai sent it back. It was explained to me that a sirloin was not always a tender cut but I’ve had sirloins many times at various steakhouses that were very tender. They ordered me a higher quality steak which they charged me full price for that was better . My son ordered a 16 oz rib eye and 1/4 to 1/2 of it was fatty. The wine, bread and sides were very good. The service/ our waiter was excellent. If given the choice , I would take longhorn or Texas Rhode house for the value and quality of steak over this chop house . It ales me to give a negative review but the quality for the price simply wasn’t there. We had ahi tuna for an appetizer and the tuna itself was flavorless. I had better ahi tuna at Firebirds.

   Third time visiting the Local Chop and my bf and I are never disappointed. The food and service is always amazing. Love everything about this restaurant.

   This is usually one of my favorite restaurants. Tonight was my birthday dinner and my filet was mediocre. I sent the first filet back. The second was marginally better. My husband was almost finished eating when my dinner arrived. The manager said the cook offered free dessert. I didn’t get a free dessert. To be honest the dessert menu isn’t anything that I like. It will take some time before I go back.

   Exceptional Dining Experience at Local Chop & Grill House! My spouse and I recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at Local Chop & Grill House in Harrisonburg, VA, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with warmth and genuine hospitality. Our server, Casey, was absolutely fantastic—attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. She made sure every detail of our meal was perfect and added a personal touch that made the evening even more special. To top it off, Steph, the General Manager, went above and beyond to ensure we had a truly memorable celebration. Their thoughtfulness and exceptional service turned our dinner into an unforgettable experience. The food, as always, was phenomenal. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. Every dish we had reflected the quality and care that Local Chop & Grill House is known for. If you’re looking for a top-notch dining experience with outstanding service, this is the place to go. A huge thank you to Casey, Steph, and the entire team for making our anniversary so special—we will definitely be back!

   In general food was good; a little disappointed with menu; would like to see more fish that is broiled, not breaded. In February CH offered an Ahi tuna steak which was very good. Salmon on menu was farm raised, not wild. Seasonal soup was delicious. Service was excellent, as usual. Our server was very attentive.
