We've been serving the people of Braintree and beyond since 2015 and in that time have humbly become ‘one of Essex’s best restaurants.’ We have received recognition from the AA, having been awarded an AA Rosette for ‘culinary excellence’ for five consecutive years, and then in 2023 we received our second rosette, putting the restaurant amongst the top 10 restaurants in Essex. Our food is of course one of our main focuses, but we don’t just stop there. Attentive, relaxed and friendly service is as important as the food and our objective is to make your visit an enjoyably memorable one. Our exceptional wine supplier, Peter Watts Wines (based up the road in Coggeshall) allows us to offer you delicious wines of an exceptional quality. Then add some cocktails, jazz, personality, creativity, a few hidden quirks and we like to think this all culminates to create a truly wonderful experience. Life is about memories; we want to be part of your best ones.

Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel es un edificio de estilo georgiano de 300 años de antigüedad catalogado como grado II (En el Reino Unido los edificios de interés histórico o arquitectónico se enlistan de acuerdo al tipo de edificio. Los grado II son edificios particularmente importantes que despiertan un interés especial). El lugar ha sido objeto de un programa extensivo de decoración para restaurar el edificio a su antigua gloria. El periodo de renovación se utilizó para combinar algunas características de la época original de la construcción con muebles y decoración de estilo clásico que complementa la esencia original de la edificación. Le Bouchon Brasserie ofrece una mezcla de gastronomía francesa y británica en un entorno íntimo y relajado.     We booked in advance as there was 10 of us, we were called prior to confirm our booking which was good, we were a bit early but seated straight away, service was quick and friendly and met all our needs, food was so lovely , definitely go back !

    Fabulous lunch today. Hadn’t been in for a while as it wasn’t getting good feedback. But new management, team, layout and food was amazing. Will definitely be back again. The Angel is back to its excellent quality service.

    I went with my two daughters , we all thought the food was excellent , my daughters had the vegetarian dish which they said was superb , I had the skate wing which was delicious . The starter of onion and goats cheese tart was gorgeous

    Great lunch. Booked a business lunch for 2 on a Wednesday before Christmas - we were the only ones in the restaurant which was a bit disconcerting and made me question whether I had got things wrong but I need not have worried. The food was excellent - very well presented and extremely tasty and the service was very polite and efficient (as expected when only 2 people in the restaurant!). I was advised that they are usually busy and things were manic from that evening onwards until there New Year so hope this was the case and the restaurant will continue as I would happily eat there again. Would happily recommend.
