The Crown is an independently run award-winning freehouse in the heart of Hastings Old Town, open at 11am every day. Our kitchen is open 12-4, 5 till 9. We serve modern British food in a friendly informal environment using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We create dishes from scratch, including homemade bread, fish from the surrounding seas and seasonal veg.We serve local real ales & craft beers, wine and a specialist gin and whisky selection and delicious coffee.'High Top Tables' refers to our high tables with bar stools. You can book a table for drinks only.Dogs are welcome, 'paws on the floors' please.Children welcome, we have a kids menu.For allergies & intolerances, please let your server know before ordering. The First In Last Out (FILO), is a family run free-house in the Old Town of Hastings. Alongside our award winning beer, we serve quality food prepared from scratch. Every dish was delicious! We were a group of seven on a Saturday lunchtime. We ordered all the small starters to share, and enjoyed this and every course. We loved it!

Im a war vet with ptsd, I called to get a quiet table etc. The help was there, service and provisions excellent! We sat upstairs, quiet, lovely and Phoebe our waitress was attentive, helpful and kind. The food was as awesome as the reviews I'd made my decision on. Had the steak to share, oysters and cheese. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for so I can't complain. Steak served already sliced ! Maybe that's standard or thoughtful because I'm a left arm amputee. Ill be returning, go! You'll love it.

We went to the Crown for a lovely valentines lunch. The food was superb and excellent value, staff were pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. All in all a wonderful experience.

We had a booth which made the experience private and very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious and plentiful. You won’t go home hungry!
