A Northern Italian kitchen inspired by the Bacari of Venice.

Our menu is inspired by tradition and dictated by the quality and availability of ingredients. We play off the similarities between the climates of Eastern Ontario and Northeast Italy, and create our take on classic dishes made with seasonal game, seafood and vegetables. Plus, sometimes we’ll just add whatever we want.

Italians have an answer for everything. Situated at the rear of the restaurant, our Bacaro upholds the Italian tradition of togetherness.     Beyond spectacular. Noise was a bit loud, but it was clearly because everyone was having a great time.

    We found the polpette ordinary. The delicate squash & yoghurt was outstanding as was the ravioli incompuito. The tournedos were delicious. The lamb shank was very good. The risotto was a little sweeter and soupier than expected but tasty nonetheless. The dessert, at 16$, was not as amazing as we had hoped, but tasty nonetheless. The service was really superlative, with Ali, and I believe the owner came by and was lovely. The dinnerware was really amazing.

    Food was excellent but one main dish was burnt. Wait staff handled it very professionally and it didn't dampen the experience. However the dish should have never left the kitchen. We would happily return.

    Excellent food BUT incredibly slow service. Waited to order for a good 30 min, appetizers arrived 25 minutes later, main about 1 hr after the appetizers. They claimed they had a big table for a private party. They should not have filled the restaurant then, it is unfair to have to wait so long for food just because the restaurant was fundamentally overbooked. The tables are also very close, it was impossible to have a conversation without shouting.

    The room was so dark it was very hard to read the menu. The menu used many Italian terms without written description. The staff was very helpful explaining things in great detail but it was difficult to remember an overload of information. While the food was excellent, it came in very modest quantities. Service was extremely friendly but that could not make up for the noted defects.

    Good food. Servers were very polite and helpful in taking us through the menu but it took a while to get their attention as they might have been busy. The food was great except one if the mains which was a bit extra salty. Overall a nice place which is definitely recommended.
