Food sounds interesting but mediocre at best. Kobe beef kabobs were ++ overcooked. Lamb kebabs just OK. Sesame chicken pieces were quite good and beet salad fine but not unique. They do have tasty original cocktails. Would not go back again for food.

Nice meal. Had the Beef Steak Oscar. The crab was a little fishy but the steak was perfection. Service was awesome - thanks Jared.

We were a party of three, with one, gluten-free child. Onyx welcomed her with open arms. They made her feel welcome, and the wait staff knew the menu very well to help choose gluten-free options. They offer an appetizer fondue that was lick-the-plate amazing, with fontina cheese (changes nightly) and a variety of meats, and vegetables. The music was at a good level, and was fun to listen to. The by the glass wine-list-WOW!

Had an amazing time at Onyx for a Ladies Night Out/university reunion. Our waitress was amazing!

The server was wonderful. She looked after dietary needs and worked hard to please. The food was only so-so. Fried cheese app was overcooked. Steak was ok, but not hot. Coffee came with curdled cream. Chicken dish was fine. Beet salad appetizer very good. An uneven meal at a relatively high price. Location, right across from Neptune worked well for theatre.

I have often had delicious meals at Onyx and dinner last night was as excellent as always. The place was very busy but the music was nice and not too loud. It was a great way to unwind after a busy week!

While traveling on business, I often eat at Onyx as it is a nice relaxing restaurant with very professional and attentive service. Even more important, the food is delicious and they have a creative menu with weekly specials. The wine list is the best I've seen in Halifax.

It was a warm summer evening and I ate outside on the terrace. The appetizer special of lobster ravioli was delicious and the portion was almost a meal to itself. The main course special of slowly braised beef and seasonal vegetables was extremely good too.

Last Thursday, I took two of my business colleagues to Onyx and they loved the restaurant. The meal was delicious and the live jazz made the evening even better !!

I discovered Onyx last week and it is one the best restaurants that I have been to in Halifax. The meal was delicious and I was very impressed with the wine list which had a number of interesting and unique wines by the glass and the bottle. The ambience was nice and refined, and the service was professional and friendly. I definitely look forward to returning !
