The Yellow House Bar and Kitchen in south London’s Surrey Quays near the shopping centre is a big, warm hug of a local bar and restaurant. The owner is on site and usually in the kitchen preparing one of three menus on offer: the restaurant menu, the grill menu and the pizza menu. The Yellow House had an earlier incarnation in Plough Way, but has moved to more intimate premises with a slick, post-Industrial vibe when it comes to décor, but still the same perfectionist’s attention to detail, relaxed ambience, warm welcome and passion about the food on the plate. I highly recommend this bar/restaurant which serves fantastic and absolutely delicious food at affordable prices. It’s right opposite Surrey Quays station in South London and there’s free parking on Southwark Park Rd. Ideal for couples and families alike. There is plenty of space around the tables for wheelchair users too. On my most recent visit, I ate the silkiest most delicious tiramisu I have ever tasted which is just as well because I opted for that over my usual favourite Yellow House dessert of six pieces of the house fudge! Dress is smart casual. There’s a lovely cosy vibe and a garden for the summer with a pizza oven. They also serve roast dinners on Sundays.

We wanted to order the chef's special but it wasn't available, so we got the ribeye for mains instead. It was outstanding—juicy, savory, and every bit was edible. The starters were great too, especially the prawns gamba. Overall, a fantastic meal!
