Hoy en día, Boca Chica ha crecido considerablemente y fue calificado como "uno de los mejores restaurantes mexicanos en las Ciudades Gemelas", según la edición de marzo de 2009 de la Minneapolis-St.Paul Magazine. La comida sigue siendo tan auténtica como al principio, pues todos los platillos son preparados totalmente en casa, utilizando recetas tradicionales e ingredientes frescos. Incluso la salsa picante es hecha en casa con tomates, chiles frescos y el toque especial de la familia Frias. El menú incluye algunos de los platillos mexicanos más tradicionales como guisados, sopes, carne asada, chiles rellenos y tamales. El sabor siempre ocupa un lugar primordial.
