Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel es un edificio de estilo georgiano de 300 años de antigüedad catalogado como grado II (En el Reino Unido los edificios de interés histórico o arquitectónico se enlistan de acuerdo al tipo de edificio. Los grado II son edificios particularmente importantes que despiertan un interés especial). El lugar ha sido objeto de un programa extensivo de decoración para restaurar el edificio a su antigua gloria. El periodo de renovación se utilizó para combinar algunas características de la época original de la construcción con muebles y decoración de estilo clásico que complementa la esencia original de la edificación. Le Bouchon Brasserie ofrece una mezcla de gastronomía francesa y británica en un entorno íntimo y relajado. Los comensales pueden disfrutar de platillos elegidos a la carta o escoger entre la amplia selección de menús establecidos en diferentes momentos de la semana. A un costado del Le Bouchon se encuentra el hermoso canal de navegación de Chelmer y Blackwater (un canal artificial donde se unieron los ríos Chelmer y Blackwater) que fue inugurado en 1797 y fluye de Springfield Basin en Chelmsford hasta la esclusa oceánica en Heybrigde Basin, cerca de Maldon. Afterhours fun though could have a better vibe for a Friday night; DJ was dull. In addition bottomless drinks was abruptly ended, a courtesy notification would have been appreciated.

Like most people I had to have the lasagne my only criticism would be was that it wasn’t piping hot but taste was amazing.

Excellent service with very polite, friendly and attentive staff who were very helpful in advising one of the party who had dietary requirements. We all ate from the set menu which gave a good choice of interesting dishes. All the food was very well cooked, delicious and well presented. The restaurant has a pleasant , friendly atmosphere without being noisy. Good value for money and very close to car parking. Can thoroughly recommend.
