The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. Sokrates Greek Taverna on Winter Hey Lane in Horwich is a relaxed, friendly restaurant serving dishes from Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean.
