Originally a coaching inn, The Bridge Arms dates back to the 16th century, once a baiting house the grade II listed pub boasts large original fireplaces for the winter months and sparse outside garden with outside bar for the warmer summer months.This iconic pub has undergone a transformation under the new ownership of Daniel and Natasha Smith (owners of The Michelin Starred Fordwich Arms) in 2021, restoring the pub to its former glory. Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Dan's cooking is accomplished yet approachable, served in a relaxed pub environment with a choice of a la carte or tasting menus.

    We happened on this restaurant by chance and am very pleased we were able to secure a reservation. Lovely location right on the harbour with gorgeous views. The restaurant is designed brilliantly so all guests get to enjoy the view. The staff made us feel exceptionally welcome from the beginning. We had our young son with us and everyone made a real fuss off him which immediately put us at ease. Very attentive staff, delicious food and wine. Great menu for children also! Restaurant had such a lovely relaxed vibe. If you love seafood it’s a must. Will definitely be returning.

    Superb choice for my 80th Birthday celebration. The chef even added an additional Happy Birthday desert. Having filmed numerous Food programmes for ITV, the whole team offer a highly professional service and take a great pride. Its a great example that no matter where the rural location is, if the ambience, food quality and staff, customers will always go the extra mile.

    What a lovely treat! So many lovely fresh sandwiches with really tasty fillings; scones and cakes with mini mince pies for the seasonal touch. A lovely big pot of tea with a 3 minute timer for the perfect brew and a glass of Prosecco to celebrate the occasion! What a lovely way to celebrate a birthday and start the Christmas season! Such lovely staff, attentive without being obvious and patient when we were making decisions. Thank you! We will come again and let our friends know how nice a time we had!
