    I am 85 years old, raised on a farm, taught to hunt and how to hunt. I've had my share of prime ribs. I was taught to not kill and animal that was running if it was going to be slaughtered, because if it was running the veins and mussels will expand and the meat would be really hard and/or impossible to eat. The first steak knife that I received would not even cut the meat. The waitress just happened to notice I was having a problem, so she brought me a different steak knife which was a lot easier to cut the meat and veins, it still wasn't easy to cut. In my opinion, the prime rib that I had must have come from a very scared cow that was participating in a stampede. The asparagus was not cooked enough to even have an asparagus flavor. We have eaten in 1776 numerous times over the years, without any kind of a problem. This time was a big disappointment. Other than the food, everything else was very nice.

    My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at 1776 Steakhouse, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our waiter, Paul, was nothing short of amazing. His service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made excellent recommendations, checked in at just the right moments, and ensured our evening was flawless. Paul’s professionalism and genuine care deserve a solid 10/10! The food was equally spectacular. Every dish was cooked to perfection, from the appetizers to the perfectly seared steaks. My husband and I couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was—we were truly impressed by the quality and presentation. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food and top-tier service, 1776 Steakhouse is the perfect choice. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

    we finally got here after hearing all good recommendations. Taylor was in charge of our experience and he killed it. we shared a tomahawk with two sides. the bread and butter was top notch, as was the food, but the service was so next level that this is now in my top 3 for the area. highly recommend reservations.

    Pre dinner cocktails hit the spot! Dinner was fabulous as was the service and the staff in general (helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.) We were seated at a great table in the corner which was decorated for the season. It made a great backdrop for our photos! The owner was very friendly and actually chatted with my husband for a bit. All in all, 1776 is our favorite spot in Sussex County!

    Food is always consistent and the waiter Alex is amazing. It’s our go to place to celebrate special occasions! Never disappoints!

    As usual 1776 did not disappoint. We were there for my husband 65 birthday . Family , Friends and Filet !! All yummy !! Thank You Jodi for taking care of us . Your Fabulous as Always !!

    1776 has been a favorite since moving here 3 1/2 years ago. Unfortunately, the food, this time was subpar. Onion rings served cold, paltry Caesar salad with scant amount of dressing. Filet served cold and had no flavor. Very disappointing.

    As always, we had a wonderful dinner. Our server was great, I forgot her name but she was always there. For the first time my husband and I shared a Tomahawk steak, it was delicious. We celebrated my husbands birthday and this is the only restaurant we celebrate occasions. Never disappointed. Thank you. Mona Friedman
