34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

Service and food is outstanding - 19 stars. The wine list is very good and packed with knowledge. The food menu should be more descriptive in terms of flavor profile and quantity. We got the right amount of food, but if our server lacked knowledge we would have gotten left hungry not and angry!

Our filet appetizers and salads were delicious. Service started out strong. We ordered the house made tonic and gin drinks, very smooth and refreshing, and then a bottle of wine. Our rabbit paella arrived looking very dry. It wasn’t dry, fortunately. But it wasn’t crispy on the bottom like a proper paella, unfortunately. It was just salty! So salty the four of us did not finish it. (We shared it with our friends as they had no food. We were clear with the server that two of us were sharing the paella and two were sharing the octopus dish.) A full 6 minutes later, the other entree finally arrived. All 3 who tried it could not eat it. Again, so salty and overly umami that the tender octopus was uneaten. During the extended lull between the two entrees, our server did appear and we mentioned how salty the paella was. She asked if we wanted something else. We said no and that we just wanted the octopus. Big mistake, as we never saw her after that. Or a manager or anyone asking about our dinner. We had to flag her down to pay. Very disappointing, expensive evening.

This was our first time at the restaurant. The atmosphere, decor, and ambiance was warm, welcoming, and beautiful. We were greeted by a very friendly host. Service was friendly, attentive, professional, knowledgeable and engaging. We shared several dishes - Crudo of Snapper, Baby Lettuce Salad, Seared Beef, and Whole Roasted Red Snapper. Every dish was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The Sommelier recommended a wine that matched our taste and the food beautifully. We had a fantastic dining experience. Restaurant 34 has already become a favorite for us. We will return soon.

Had a fantastic experience. Dinner was wonderful and coursed perfectly. Our server went above and beyond to help my father and I have a great evening.

Went for lunch. Friendly helpful server explained an unfamiliar cuisine. Noise level low enough for conversation to be easy. Every item tried was delicious

From the moment we entered to the time we left service was exceptional. Food was very good. The whole fish presentation and taste was exceptional and perfect to share.

What an experience! The restaurant is beautiful from the moment you walk in. Our waiter Nick was outstanding as well as the rest of the servers. The drinks, specifically the variations of gin and tonic, were fantastic. Although the food was somewhat difficult to make out on the menu (as it is unfamiliar Portuguese food), Nick walked us through the whole menu and helped us selected some fantastic dishes. The 3 breads and 3 butters appetizer, Manilla clams, Spanish Paella, and pasteis dessert really shined. I'm sure the rest of the food is great as well. Portuguese food is similar to Spanish food, but unique enough to be a different experience on its own.
