A COSY LITTLE SPEAKEASY IN THE HEART OF THE CITY
9 Below bar is Dublin’s hideaway for seductive cocktails and stimulating conversation. Nestled in the former basement of historical Stephen’s Green Hibernian Club, we have taken great pleasure in refurbishing our own piece of this prestigious building, originally built in 1756. Our beautifully designed space offers 4 intimate rooms in which to drink and be merry (and a little mischievous).

Our menu features an enticing selection of champagnes, spirits and cocktails, all dispensed by a couple of fun-loving bartenders who really know their craft. Swing by for after-work libations and you might just find yourself staying all evening!

It was our first time in 9 below and it was a bit disappointing. I think it was almost 15 minutes after we were seated we got to order our drinks but from the host not the waiting staff. It seemed to be fairly busy just no waiting staff seemed to go to our area which was the first left when entering the building. We both got 2 drinks each and we only liked one of them. Would not recommend the black pearl or white chicks but the zombieland cocktail was pretty good. When we ordered the first drinks we ordered some pretzels and olives but came a good 10 minutes later but could have easily been from a packet or jar so not sure on the delay. While I'd consider going again, it seemed to be a bit disorganized and not worthy the price we paid for the experience. Also I'd give the menus a good clean as they were stickyyy. I would give it a 5/10

Pre dinner Champage for a birthday. No food but had a fabulous bottle of champagne with some spiced nuts. Great service and a special atmospehere

To be honest I was a bit disappointed with this venue and was expecting a lot more. I was there on a first date and was immediately put off by the seating arrangements in the place. If you are sitting in those chairs they have instead of the couch (which I was because I’m a gentleman) then brace yourself for a sore back and sore legs. Those chairs were so poorly designed and uncomfortable, I wouldn’t return due to them alone. I thought the service was also pretty poor, at one stage I was trying to get one of the servers attention for 20 mins and still no service so had to go up to them myself. Cocktails were also very average. If I wasn’t such a charismatic guy the date would’ve been a disaster but luckily I am so it was still a success but won’t be going back to this place ever again.

Just to note here that it's not possible to complete the review without rating the food - which we didn't have, so I gave 1 star. I didn't even know 9 Below served food! The ambience is classy & sophisticated. However, we were in a back room, & there was just one other couple for 50 mins of the hour we were there. So, no atmosphere & too quiet. Also, both of us were getting quite cold by the end of the hour. I was in a blouse, husband in a shirt - hadn't expected to need another layer as it was not a cold night outside at all. (12c) I imagine that back room would need some kind of heating when Winter sets in. Prices were expected for an upmarket cocktail bar. Cocktails are €14.50. There is a very inventive & interesting list, and nicely done in a mini magazine. Beers & whiskeys were good value. The cocktail was delicious, & service was attentive & friendly. Oh - the phone line is terrible. Almost impossible to hear what's being said on the other end, with crackling noises etc. Maybe switch to a WhatsApp business phone number??

We understand how this can be misleading and will look into adding a note to clarify for future guests. Regarding the back room, we’re sorry to hear it was cold! Service was good and atmosphere was lovely until a larger group came in to ruin it on everyone. One table asked to move elsewhere, another table left and so did we as a result. Staff asked them to be quiet and told us they'd ask them to leave if kept being too loud but they never did.

Nice venue in a good location but nothing special in terms of cocktail menu and service for the price point. Bathrooms were not clean.

Absolutely fantastic evening at 9 below. Service staff were extremely friendly and helpful…..I assumed as it was on St Stephen’s Green that it would be snobby attitude but not in the slightest. We tasted 4 different cocktails all superbly made, lovely ambience, warm, charming, efficient. Highly recommend and hope to be back.

the drinks and the atmosphere are perfect as always. for the first time, we ordered some food; unfortunately, everything was quite poor and tasted rather cheap. otherwise its a fave as usual!
