Created by our talented team of award-winning 2 AA Rosette chefs, join us for a delicious afternoon tea by the open fire or dine alfresco on your choice of beautiful garden terraces.

Available as a vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free option at 48 hours’ notice.

We're perfectly located just a few minutes’ walk from Bournemouth beach and a five minute walk to the town centre. With plenty of parking available on site and a public car park just up the road.

Our brasserie also serves delicious lunch and dinner, please search for 'The Connaught Brasserie' and make your reservation from there.

                  I cant believe this was marked as one of the top places to go for afternoon tea. Upon arrival we were the only people in the restaurant. We would have been better with "lift music" as the music was so depressing. We were booked in for 12.30. The waitress came to see us to get us to make our choices and then our afternoon tea arrived at 13.05. There was sufficient food but the sconees were very dry and we only had one pat of butter for 4 scones! Waiting staff were nowhere to be seen and if we needed anything we had to go and find someone. This was not cheap and was a birthday celebration for me so very disappointing. My sister is ceoliac so was asked to sit at the end of the table so they knew where she was! In a party of 5 even I would know which person was coeliac instead of making her sit at the end. We will definitely not be returning nor recommending.

                  This was my second cream tea here and again it was brilliant! Lovely atmosphere, great food and service. Will definitely be back.

                  Pleasant and relaxing surroundings and quiet. The cream tea was very nice although it could have been a little better with the variety of sandwiches and cakes.

                  We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Connaught, myself and two friends really enjoyed the food lots of tea and very comfortable, staff were very nice and efficient, we have been before and will visit again in the future.

                  The food tasted lovely however there was too much cream, cream on all the cakes and the jar with cream in was bland, I would have prefer an extra sandwich and one less cake.

                  The restaurant is lovely but the food was not great. Only three small sandwiches for afternoon tea. Egg mayonnaise, ham and tomato and smoked salmon. Extraordinary unimaginative. There was no choice of tea - I have had a lot of afternoon teas and never before have I just been served bog standard, over stewed tea with no choice. The scones were good although no clue what they did to the jam as they t was very weird although not unpleasant. The cakes were over sweet and clumsy. All in all it was really disappointing.

                  Wonderful Afternoon Tea for Mother's Day, fantastic staff, especially Tom, very attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious and fresh.

                  The food looked lovely and the sandwiches were tasty. The scones were very nice but the cakes were very dry and unfortunately there was a hair in the mousse which ruined my daughter’s experience. The staff were very friendly however and the room was set out nicely. I wouldn’t go back I have had much better elsewhere.

                  Food great, staff absolutely lovely was made to feel very special and most importantly we wasn't rushed. Loved it so much we stayed for an extra gin. Would recommend to anyone visiting Bournemouth,in fact my friend who was with us booked an over night stay for her son, and I would use the hotel if I do return to Bournemouth.
