   My wife and I go to Alder and Birch often and thoroughly enjoy the quality of food and the excellent service. This was no exception. We had a wonderful meal. Zac was excellent and added to the evening. We look forward to our next visit.

   Our favorite server, Zack, was bartending so my husband and I dined at the bar. I LOVED that the place mats had gone away. Although, I saw them still set on the tables in the dining room; they give such a diner vibe to this restaurant.

   It was great, but they had run out of the queen meal. The service is great, I've been there a few times, and they have always had great service 👍

   The best part of the meal was my water. If you’re a foodie, please skip this place. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, wedge salad, Delmonico steak (medium) topped with lump crab meat and a loaded potato, prime rib (medium rare) with broccolini. 1) the fried green tomatoes were 90% breading to 10% tomato; I think the tomatoes sat in the breading so long that the water was pulled out from the tomatoes; 2) the salad was really fresh, the dressing was definitely house-made, but… the bacon pieces were cold, so the bacon fat was congealed pieces together; 3) the delmonico and lump crab was tasty and cooked to perfection; the potato was generous in size, but wasn’t cooked all the way through; And finally… 4) I think I got the last piece of prime rib, because it was definitely not medium rare. It was well done and crispy around the edges. The au jus and horseradish cream did make the meat redeemable. Our server did try her very best - giving the chef feedback about the fried green tomatoes and getting them comped for us - but the kitchen didn’t do her any favors. I wish they would have let me know that it was the last piece of prime rib and definitely not medium rare, so someone else could have had it if that would be their preference.

   French onion soup and gumbo both excellent. Very generous portions. Specialty bread perfect with soups. Beef medallions and mashed potatoes excellent. Beef ordered medium well and still very tender. Eggplant with pasta was soooo good! Ordered it with crabmeat topping. Had to bring eggplant home because I was full after French onion soup and bread. Will enjoy it for lunch.

   Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable but there were no garlic free options. Garlic is even added to the ranch dressing! As I cannot eat garlic it was a very disappointing, and expensive, dinner.

   Whenever we go to Alder and Birch, we make it a point to ask for Darlene. She is absolutely wonderful. She is the server who is able to check on you without disturbing you - a quality not many have. She keeps us updated on any new dishes and most importantly, she makes the meal a wonderful experience with her charm! If she is not there, we ask for Zac. This past visit we had the French Onion Soup, a Ceasar salad and the 10oz filet mignons. Everything was excellent, possibly the best meal we have ever had a the restaurant.

   It was lovely!!! Our waitress was fabulous!!! And I loved getting a rose on Valentine’s Day!!!

    Everything was perfect and the food was great. The service was subpar tho, definitely needs improvements.
