This was our 3rd time dining at the Argyle in Maclean. We booked a table on the verandah, but the music was very loud which made it difficult to have conversation. The couple sitting nearby were also locals and were there for their first time and they were also upset about the loud music. It was very disappointing because we had thought the Argyle was going to offer patrons something of a higher quality dining experience than the other hotel down the street.

All of the food we ordered from the share plates to the mains were so good. Steaks were all cooked to perfection, snitzels were big and the kids all loved them, the flavours were insanely good in all the dishes we ordered. Need to go to the bar if you have a reservation to get seated, and order meals at the end of it too. The prices are good value for the meals bought out. Staff are nice, and the atmosphere is good- we sat inside but would probably opt for outside next time because its so nice out there. Such a nice place for Maclean to have to go and eat at, and definately recommend trying it if you are thinking about it.

The newly renovated local pub is a fantastic spot for lunch! The food was excellent—highlights included the perfectly seasoned salt and pepper calamari, crispy fish and chips, and a hearty chicken parmi. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. There's also a great selection of drinks to suit any preference. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal and a relaxed vibe. A must-visit!

I have been twice to the Argyle for dinner.The first time was 6/12/24 for my staff Xmas party.Everyone loved their meal and the service. I then booked a family of six for a birthday on 30/12/24. My family loved their meal ,and my husband is still raving over the steak. I unfortunately had the same dish as I had on the first visit ,the prawn linguine. I realise that you have new staff but disappointed because the sauce was entirely different.I asked for no chilly and the pasta was too spicey hence the chilly.and oily instead of creamy. Next time I will have to choice something else.regards Bev Anderson

Firstly, the waitresses can’t seat you when you arrive, instead you have to line up at the bar to let them know you’re there for your reservation (that took a good five minutes as we had to wait behind everyone buying their drinks). Then it took over 1hr to get our food. The food when it finally arrived was average - and certainly nothing to wait over an hour for. The staff were apologetic about the wait, saying they’re were staffing issues in the kitchen - but that was as far as it went. So, no we wouldn’t be back.

Beautiful hotel, still finding their footing, prices were a bit high, very limited menu, food was nice but overall a great experience

The Argyle is an amazing hotel. They have a great selection of food and drink. Everyone will find something to love. Amazing to see an old building back to its natural charm.
