Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern offers a unique and innovative dining experience with magnificent views of Lake Michigan. Our Great Lakes-inspired, New American cuisine has an emphasis on farm-fresh fare from local and regional farms, celebrating the theme of craftsmanship and sustainability.
With booking a table in Artisan please advise your table will be reserved for 2 hours starting at the time of your reservation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUTSIDE TABLES ARE RESERVED UPON REQUEST BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
If you have requested a table outdoors, please be advised that in the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate your party inside at the same reservation time, however we cannot guarantee a table inside at the same exact time and may need to adjust the reservation time accordingly.

    Artisan was an absolutely phenomenal experience! The vibe, the staff, and -- above all -- the FOOD!! Every thing we ordered was absolutely delicious and our server gave us a ton of guidance and everything he said to describe the dishes was completely spot on. The staff had a bottle of the Bianchi cabernet decanted for us when we arrived and we were able to use the private dining space to celebrate a bachelorette party. I also want to commend the entire staff for their allergy/food restriction conscientiousness! They asked up front about whether anyone in our party had restrictions and made sure to verify again when we were ordering. This was particularly impressive because one member of our party has a medical keto diet and the chef went so far as to prepare a specific amuse-bouche for our party that she was able to eat. Could not rate this experience highly enough.

    Tegan was an excellent server. Food was prepared to perfection! Caesar salad was particularly amazing.

    Me and my wife celebrated our first anniversary. All the food was amazing and the chefs, front of house staff, and server Melissa made the night very special and memorable for us. Terra also made delicious drinks I wish we could ordered more of them.

    Wow... what a transformation! I had not visited Hotel Delamar and Artisan restaurant since it was the dumpy Holiday Inn. The hotel is beautiful. Artisan really came through! The decor is sophisticated but inviting, the fireplaces roaring, our view pleasant. The food is quite good.... the service made the experience! Melissa took care of us. She was knowledgable, made some smart suggestions and paced things perfectly. The kitchen also split our apps. I especially liked the cacio pepe salad... my dining partner enjoyed the roasted squash app. We both had the filet with a bit too heavy (for me) sauce. Loved the pave' potatoes. Nick the manager checked on us regularly and kindly showed us the pool and 'igloos'.... One more great addition to the Traverse City dining scene!

    First of all our waitress was very pleasant . I was very disappointed in our food . I had salmon which was warm not hot . My husband had lamb chops with a loose bread crumbs , not tasty. He asked for a salad with his meal , small salad 16 dollars. Bread was xtra. 8 . For 160 plus tip I was upset we chose this restaurant, I had read the reviews and they were very good. With the prices there should also be a dress code. I am aware this is a hotel so some may have not been prepared . I would not go again for this price.

    Excellent bar service & cocktails. Table service was good but marred by excessively long waits for soup & salad appetizers as well as entrees. Food served warm, at best. Flavors were good and dishes prepared well, but not great when not served in a timely manner and allowed to get cold. Especially true with a medium-well, pink in the middle pork chop. Would have sent both entrees back but did not want any longer wait. Not sure if this was an issue with the kitchen or the server, but the dining experience suffered in either case. Overall, mediocre and not worth the price.

    It is new years so I'm sure that's why there were so many people, but it was nice overall. Surprisingly a lot more kids than I thought there would be. We rented a cabana and had some food and drinks, then decided to enjoy the outdoor heated pool as the snow fell. Definitely recommend and have recommended.
