    Having regularly dined at the AVH for over 2 years, it seems a change of ownership may have impacted our overall experience. The dining room seemed less organised and the staff may have having churned a bit. Overall the AVH will remain our favourite local pub for a meal and weeknight out of the house. Our meals were excellent and the manager accommodated us professionally. Let’s see how the next few months go.

    Had a wonderful lunch with my wife today, Friday 24th January. Young lady barmaid/waitress was fabulous in getting our drinks and food order. Meals were excellent and came in a very timely manner.

    Table of 4 who all had different diet requirements which menu was able to accommodate. Good friendly service.

    First time back for a while & all 3 of us took advantage of the Friday specials. The usual level of attentive service, and when we clearly weren't drinking more we were left alone. Overall, up to the usual high standard all around.

    We dined today at the Ascot Vale Hotel and all enjoyed the excellent value 'Tradies Lunch'. At $25 for the meal including a glass of wine and a drink, it is great value. I highly recommend the Barramundi and chips!! But, more importantly, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Isaac was our 'Main Man' and he looked after the 5 of us very well. A very nice guy and we all appreciated his delightful sense of humour! Keep up the great work guys! PS: I have a bit of skin in the game, having been a barman for 3 years when completing my degree at Victoria Uni (ex FIT).

    Have been to the Ascot Vale Hotel several times and the meals are consistently good. Wednesday is Parma night and for $20 it is not only great value, but it is also absolutely delicious.

    Two of us had Seafood Spag, it was really tasty but very salty for one of us. Two others has the veal snitzel, which they both really enjoyed and the slaw complimented it perfectly. Great waiter staff and we will be back.

    Unaware that the kitchen closed/had limited meals between 3-5pm. Staff were very accomodating and understanding. We were Still able to order meals. Staff were very kind and helpful. Will definitely come back!!

    The seafood spaghetti was amazing. The pork belly was soggy, not crisp. Such a shame as the veggies were excellent. I've never eaten kale that I've liked before.
