Housed in Brocket Hall’s former hunting lodge, Auberge du Lac enjoys an idyllic lakeside setting overlooking the beautiful 543 acre country estate and the Hall itself.

Whether it is al fresco dining in summer at the water’s edge, or an intimate environment in the winter months, Auberge du Lac provides the right mood for every occasion. With a beautiful lounge, picturesque terrace and a host of tastefully decorated private dining rooms, capable of seating from 2 to 16 guests, the restaurant regularly caters for private dinners, ladies lunches, weddings, birthday parties and other celebrations.

Really pretty place with the terrace right by the river. Food is very good, tasty and well presented with some interesting flavour combinations such as melon anise sorbet. The head chef came out to deliver the amuse bouche personally and spent time talking to us about produce which was a lovely touch. The only reason I have marked it down is the toilets are upstairs so it wasn't as accessible as it could be However, the staff happily drove the golf buggy round to the front entrance where the toilets are on the same level (the terrace and restaurant are a level down) and then it's a short distance to the toilets. They were also happy to drive the buggy to the car park to deliver less mobile customers such as my mother-in-law so service was excellent.

Wonderful meal! The food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. Service was excellent, staff were efficient as well As being friendly and helpful

at the end of the meal the waiting staff disappeared and we had to go and find them to pay the bill. I don't expect this at this level of restaurant. Food was excellent

Lovely place. We had the tasting menu without wine. The food was excellent apart from the meat which was ruined by using the dreadful water bath cooking method, rendering the meat tasteless and over cooked. Everything else was perfect but just beware eating lamb or beef. I didn’t try the pork.

One of the best Sunday lunches we had had in ages with a wonderful setting and good service. What more could one ask for.

An outstanding restaurant in terms of food, setting, and service. The set menus are inexpensive for this standard but you can spend a lot on drinks. On this occasion we had the three course set lunch at £29.50 each - with a Prosecco at £11.50, non-alcohol drink at £8.50 , then coffee and tip the bill came out at £96. I have eaten at quite a few Michelin stars restaurants over the years and Auberge du Lac is in that league. Presentation, flavour, and texture as you would expect.

I attended Auberge Du Lac for Sunday Lunch on 5th May 2019 with my husband and parents as part of my 60th birthday celebrations. Everything from our arrival to departure was wonderful. The service was excellent and the food beautiful. The lounge where we took pre lunch drinks was lovely and the dining room overlooking the lake second to none. I would like to mention one member of the team in particular - Emma - who was so friendly and helpful. She really couldn't do enough for us and made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.
