Avelo Restaurant is located in a heritage townhouse on a quiet street in Yorkville and serves some of the city's finest plant-based cuisine. Our aim is to deliver an extraordinary and immersive dining experience where the servers guide guests through an exploration of many small plates highlighting seasonal ingredients while offering insight into each dish. We also offer an optional wine pairing and are able to accommodate many dietary restrictions with advance notice.

Avelo hosts two dinner seatings per evening where guests choose between the 5-course or the 8-course* tasting menu. The seating times are 5-6:15pm and 7:45-8:30pm.

Absolutely stunning. Easily the best meal we've had since visiting Legume in Seoul, and definitely in our top three restaurants post-pandemic (it's hard to remember pre-pandemic so I don't like going back that far). In North America, it may even be the best one! The restaurant is quite small -- 20 seats total (I counted!), of which two are four-tops and the rest two-tops, so a total of 8 tables. The evening we were there, there were a total of two front-of-house people we interacted with, both of whom were knowledgeable and friendly. The presentation, flavors, and variety of the food were all superb. This is how vegan food is meant to be, truly! We did the five-course meal, which was quite filling. That said, the next time we visit Toronto we're already thinking of how to do the eight-course -- skip breakfast; ask for just one plate for certain dishes; ...? Highly, highly recommend!

Wow, just wow. We splurged for the 7-course (+4 amuses-bouches and dessert) and it was fantastic. Lots of innovative dishes using varied fermentation methods and great flavour combinations I never would have guessed went together. Highlights include the eggplant "cigar" and romesco filling, black-eyed pea tempeh with miso glaze and pistachio crust (I usually hate tempeh!) and the sourdough mini croissant and dehydrated beet powder on the dip. But the winner by far was the macaron. I've never had a macaron that was so smooth and with such incredible texture and Nutella-like flavour as this one! Non-vegan macarons have this grainy quality and other vegan macarons are just a little too crispy. My spouse adored the carrot cake. The birthday dessert was amazing too (won't spoil it) and service was great. The drinks were on another level - get the Cocoa & Oak, that foam is unreal! My only wish is for an option to add some more spicy and heat, but I understand many diners don't like it. This is what you want in a fine dining experience! It did not disappoint. We'll be back!

We had the 8 course tasting menu which, n fact, is 11 separate plates when you include the small Amuse Bouche servings interspersed through the other courses. The food was amazing - creative, beautifully plated and, above all, delicious. The chef is a master of his craft, that the dishes are all vegan makes it even more impressive. The servers - Amy and Serena - enhanced the overall experience. They had a very deep understanding of each plate and were so personable that they enhanced the overall experience. One member of our party was also gluten sensitive and the restaurant accommodated them with no fuss and just a minimal change to some of the courses. Just make sure you highlight any allergies or food sensitivity with your reservation. Honestly, this is a vegan restaurant that would cater to anyone who is looking for a unique and enjoyable dining experience.

A great tasting menu! With very innovative vegan dishes with unique ingredients. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday and received a nice little surprise for dessert.

It was great! The look and feel are chill, comfy, relax , friendly and yet stylish and a bit of fancy. It’s a nice place to spoil yourself. The staff are very friendly. The food is extraordinary and I order the wine pairing 👌🏼 the amuse surprised me and every course is beautifully presented to you as well as delicious.

The service was impeccable! So friendly! They served us very promptly and explained each dish with the upmost care and attention. The restaurant is so cozy and beautiful, especially the upstairs bar (definitely something to book for next time). The food was delicious and so unique! I would love to come regularly to experience the changes to the menu! The set menu had a nice flow to it and we were left amazed how creative vegan cuisine can be. We especially loved the appetizer consisting of buttery croissant and split pea dip that was plated like a cute miniature garden. Overall I loved my meal at Avelo and I can’t wait to come back!
