BackDoor Bistro and Wine Bar focuses on sustainable, ethically sourced cuisine. Local farms produce as much as possible of the produce and ingredients for BackDoor Bistro. Its menu changes seasonally for varied options that change with the seasons and the bounty of surrounding farms. This restaurant also offers local beer, wine and artisanal cocktails for delightful pairings.

Guests can start their meals with bites and appetizers like the Polenta Fries with Cilantro Lime Crema, the Crispy Thai Brussels Sprouts. or the Seasonal Seared Spanish Octopus. They can then move onto the crowd-pleasing Stempler Creek Beef Burger, the Coconut Lime Bouillabaisse, or the hearty Southern Style Fried Chicken which is served Tuesday-Thursday nights.

The gorgeous patio is surrounded by plant life and set aside a bustling courtyard. The dining room is charming yet elegant. BackDoor Bistro has been voted best spot for a date night for many years for a reason!

Friendly staff, nice cozy atmosphere. Food was just ok and price was way too high. I had the squash dish. I couldnt eat the squash, it tasted like a stick of butter. I ate the tomatoes and olives on the side. My husband ordered steak which he said tasted good, but made his stomach very upset all night. We will not be returning.

What a great find in downtown Vacaville, away from the chains and outlet stores. The menu had lots of great choices, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was outstanding. I'll look forward to returning.

The pre fixed NYE menu was delicious and the wine paring made the night. Chef Lindsey does not disappoint.

The food was extremely delicious and tasty! We loved everything we ordered (flat iron steak, swordfish, and the fish of the day came in an incredible lemongrass sauce)! Wine list was lovely and from all the great areas near by!

This was our first time eating here. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. It was really delicious. Husband had the duck and I had the burger and we both loved it. The restaurant is small which means tables are close together, but it wasn’t an issue for us considering the food made up for it.

We go to Backdoor Bistro all the time and love this neighborhood gem. Both lunch and dinner are great, and it really feels like a night out.

The atmosphere was cozy and festive during my holiday lunch with dad. He and his wife ordered the portobello mushroom burgers and they were tough in the middle so that was a bit disappointing. My risotto with salmon was delicious but a little too heavy on the butter. The cranberry cheesecake was a sweet birthday treat, compliments of the staff. Would definitely come back and try other dishes.
