Bar La Rue delivers an exceptional dining experience with its beautiful ambiance, perfectly complementing the delicious menu offerings. The escargot, steamed mussels, and steak frites were all executed to perfection, showcasing the kitchen’s expertise. The cocktails are another standout, with the Bonne Vivant stealing the spotlight among the thoughtfully crafted selections. I've eaten here before and it was just as good. Service was excellent, drinks were very tasty, and the brunch options are good. The steak & eggs with the bearnaise sauce were DELICIOUS! It's a "girlie" type place, since its very flowery, but there are also a lot of tv's on with football and plenty of men in there to enjoy the game and the food. I'd highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the food. The burger over cheese fondue was so good. The chocolate hazelnut dessert was so yummy! Loved the vibes!

This was my first time experiencing Bar La Rue and I had a fantastic time! Julian, our server, was fantastic and all of his recommendations were a success. My friend and I both ordered the steak frites and shared sauces which were delectable. Our cocktails were super yummy as well; atmosphere was nice, lively, and gave you a true Parisian vibe. I would definitely go back!

Delicious brunch and charming interior design. Food was very tasty - we had the ham & cheese galette, lobster omelet, Caesar salad and fries and they surprised us with a little brûléed french toast for a birthday dessert. Server was lovely and attentive. Manager also stopped by at end of meal to make sure we enjoyed our food and experience. Would definitely go back for brunch and to try dinner. Prices are in line with other west loop spots. Parking can be difficult so plan ahead. Food was a tiny bit slow coming out but not excessively.

We were excited to try Bar La Rur for the first time, but unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed. We kicked things off with espresso martinis, which were delicious and set the tone for a promising evening. For our starter, we ordered the shrimp cocktail, which featured three sizeable shrimp. However, despite their size, the shrimp were extremely chewy in texture, making them less enjoyable than we'd hoped. The dish also came with two dipping sauces, but the busser unexpectedly whisked them away before we’d even finished. After asking for a refill, it took almost 10 minutes to get more sauce, which was frustrating. For the main course, we opted for the Burger Royal. It arrived about 30 minutes after we’d ordered, but unfortunately, it was cold—across the board, none of us could finish it. The fries, overly salted to the point of inedibility, didn’t help matters. While we had a 7:30 reservation, we were done and out the door by 8:30 pm, which, for a sit-down meal, felt alarmingly rushed. Given the experience, we couldn’t help but feel that the meal fell far short of expectations, especially considering the price. Honestly, we could’ve had a far better, more satisfying meal at a place like In-N-Out Burger. While the cocktails were good, I wouldn’t recommend Bar La Rur for food—it felt overpriced and more like subpar fast food than a thoughtfully crafted dining experience. If you’re looking for a drink, though, it might be worth a visit.

The wait to get our table was very long, hostesses seemed disorganized. Our food took pretty long as well. The food thankfully did taste good, but overall not the best service I’ve experienced.
