This is Greece.

Bar Vlaha tells the story of the Vlach people, the founders of hospitality and Greek cooking. A nomadic group of shepherds who created and nurtured the roots of Hellenic cooking as we know it. Straying from the tried-and-true island cuisine, we're rediscovering Greek fare sourced from rural mountains, lakes and villages of Central and Northern Greece.

Bar Vlaha captures the true soul of Greek cooking with rustic and nomadic traditions using charcoal and open fire gastra techniques. Locally sourced, regional and seasonal ingredients are combined with the warmth of old-world hospitality to bring the roots of Greek culture to Brookline.

    Great service and great vibe. Food is good but can be better. The pie's need to fully cooked and Pita quality need to improve.

    We sat at the bar for brunch. Great drinks and fast service. Can’t wait to try dinner at this gem in Brookline.

    We went for dinner on a Friday evening, food was incredible! Two of us shared the 3 spreads-Tzatziki, whipped feta and the charred eggplant with the amazing sourdough bread,very generous portions of the spreads the eggplant was my favorite, Smokey and delicious. We also had the crispy fried oyster mushrooms, very good, light not greasy at all, the pan fried house made pork and fennel sausage with mustard yogurt - delicious, and my favorite of the night the red wine braised beef cheeks , the beef was so tender and the sauce that it was braised in was full of warm spice flavors. We had the rolled Baklava with olive oil ice cream for dessert, so good and such a wonderful flavor combination with the olive oil on the vanilla ice cream. Service was excellent, Jorge was our server, super friendly, brought us two after dinner digestif-one which was non-alcoholic-interesting flavors to say the least! We sat at the chef’s counter and could see all of the action in the kitchen. Overall wonderful experience! Will definitely be back.
